I've got plans to purchase a HD and a sidecar from Champion Trikes and Sidecars located out of California. The HD bike I want the Electra Glide Ultra Limited has an ABS system. It has been recommended to me when I get the/a sidecar to get it w/ brakes as well. The issue at hand I've been told is I can not hook up the sidecar (w/ non-abs) to a motorcycle (w/ abs) due to confusion w/ in the motorcycles electronic system. Which forces me for the most part to go w/ the HD bike Ultra Classic Electra Glide that does not have ABS. My question to anyone is do you know of a side car that I can hook up to a bike w/ ABS OR a sidecar w/ ABS OR is it pretty much as simple as that, meaning I just have to settle for a bike w/ no ABS to get the sidecar? And does anyone know of or recommend a sidecar company? The only one I've been dealing w/ is Champion from Cali. Thank you for your time on this. TG

We have hooked up sidecars no problem to the Harley's with ABS your sidecar brake will not have ABS but it really does not matter as if you do look up the sidecar brake all that will happen is that the tire will skid and it might not stop quite as fast as it would if it had ABS. It will still be much better then if you did not have a brake on the sidecar. We are a dealer for Champion sidecars. We also build many sidecar of our own. Our M72C and M72CX are the most popular for your bike. If you do go with the Champion if you order if from us we can give you better customer support at this time then Champion. My general manager was involved in the development of the Champion sidecars.

Mr. 46u, we understand you don’t like Champion because you had one bad phone conversation, there is a complete thread on this for anyone to read. But please give it a rest, they build a great sidecar and if tommygunniz1 ends up with a Legend he will be very happy.
Tommyqunniz1 I can’t answer your question (Jay already did) but an Ultra with a Champion Legend would make one fantastic looking rig.
I looked at the Legend for a while but decided on an Escort because of the ease of entry and the convertible top.

I am not the only one that had problems with Champion so if I can help someone else from going through what others and I have I feel this is helpful. The final decision is up to said person. All so many feel that Champion is going to get out of the sidecar business and would hate for a person to buy one and then a few years later not be able to get parts if needed.
