How many of you have a seat belt in your hack?
When I got my used Vetter Terraplane sidecar it had a seat belt installed. Seems to be a factory item from looking at how well anchored the ends are. The Terraplane also has a very beefy roll bar, so the seat belt would be very functional and a good safety feature along with the roll bar.
However, my seat belt is so short it won't even buckle to itself, let alone around anybody sitting in the car. I am assuming it had an extension to be able to fit around a rider. Any Terraplane owners run into this situation?
How many of your sidecars out there have a seat belt? Personally, I wouldn't want to be belted in if the car doesn't have a roll bar or some other form of overhead protection.

I bought my Velorex used and it had a seat belt in it. I use it to hold the kids carseat in and have put a "REDNECK HANS DEVICE" in it. Also I live in West Virginia and we actually have a seat belt law for sidecars.

Hannigan offers one as an option - and I just installed it as I reworked the sidecar. Anchors to a seat mounting bolt on either side. I had the same question... if it was better or worse to be strapped in - but thought with the cockpit and subframe, probably better to be strapped in.

The Honda/Dauntless I recently purchased came with belts front and back for the car. My 15 year old and wife do not use them but I think they are a good idea for younger, inexperienced riders. I will require them with all my younger passengers.
