Found the linked Hitchhiker car on CL. https://wichita.craigslist.org/mpo/5835639003.html Not good pictures and the owner says he doesn't know much about it. Seems to be missing the windshield and he says his son repainted it black. I'm guessing a rattle can job. Comes with some kind of universal mounts that have in turn been used on a Harley, a Goldwing and recently a Valkyrie. It's a 3 hour trip to go look at at. Worth the trip? I know little about sidecars but have the bug and would like something inexpensive to try before committing to a nicer rig. I realize no one can evaluate the price fairness without seeing the car but typically would you say the price is out of line for what it appears to be? I do know he's asking way too much for the valkyrie it was attached to. I ride one and that is two to two and a half thousand too much for a Valk standard. I have no problem offering him less.

Mike, as much as I like Hitchhikers $1200 is way too much for what I can see
in the pics. It looks pretty rough. No windshield, no running light. you can't see the interior.
I would keep looking.

I would be ashamed to publish those pictures but what little I can make out he is high on his price. You would have to put good money after bad money to have a satisfactory rig. Besides - he has run this sidecar on three heavy bikes. There might be some other damage to the frame or suspension.

My thanks to both of you for your wise counsel You're correct of course. I just get over excited when anything reasonably close shows up. I'm going to pass on this one.
