Is anyone else planning on going to the MotoGP in Indianapolis? The wife and I and a friend(non-sidecar) are planning on riding out and I was just curious if anyone else from here is going to be attending. We're just getting general admin tickets and not sure where we're camping yet.

Hope you guys had as good a time as we did at Indy. The weather could have been better Sunday, but it's one I'll never forget. I'll also never forget riding on the racetrack on Saturday in the Lap of Champions. Highly recommend that one to others for next year. Apparently, the race will be moved up to the weekend of Aug 30, 2009 and I'm sure that the Ride For Kids folks will be hosting another Lap of Champions fundraiser that let's us non-racers actually take a lap on the track for charity. Great feeling as you come across the row of bricks they left in at the finish line and you think about all the drivers (and now riders) who have been there before you.

We had a great time at the MotoGP. I would definately reccomend that anyone who is even thinking about it go next year. I was really impressed with the track facilities and everything. We bought tickets from a ticket resaler near the track and got some pretty good seats cheap. I saw at least 1/2 a dozen other sidecar bikes around in the parking areas.
They had all thos "Max speeding fine $1000, Reckless driving max x months"(I can't remember the months) signs all over town and all we saw that weekend were two cars pulled over. I heard that they actually had less arrests that weekend than on a normal, non race weekend.
Did you look at the Hannigan stuff that was out there? I really liked that ZX14 rig they had, a bargain at only $23k. I bet that thing is seriously fast. I'd rather have one made out of the new Concours though for shaft drive and saddlebags. They told me they could do that if I brought them the bike and $19K. I think I'll stick with the Honda/Ural for now :D.
I've got some pictures I need to try and post sometime.

Here's some links to our pictures from the GP.
I'd go again this year if it weren't for the new baby.
