Hi I'm new to this forum. I have few years experience with sidecars: 1989 Suzuki GS850 with Dnepr sidecar and 19XX Dnepr MT-16 (2 wheel drive) motorcycle/sidecar. I sold them in for my 2004 Harley Davidson Electra Glide. I begin to miss all the fun and experience in driving a 2-wheel drive sidecar as well as riding a solo bike... My girlfriend misses riding in a sidecar. So my burning question is: Should I get a TLE/Liberty for my Harley or get an Ural 2-wheel drive? I'd like to keep my $$$ down on the sidecar... Pros and cons are very welcomed here... Thanks in advance.

With a limited budget a new Liberty would be out. No new TLE orders are being taken (same price range $10K +-).
Used TLEs usually have about 1500+- extra parts to buy to adapt to your year Harley.
Any aftermarket sidecar will need the added cost of a sub-frame mount set to adapt to your Harley.
New 2WD Urals are getting pricey also and are speed impaired.
Used 2 WD Urals are just for the slow roads and will need tinkering.
I can mount a new Kenna Standard on it for $4,600. Roll-in-Roll-out.

I just purchased a TLE sidecar for my Harley. I am new to the side car rig ride myself, but with my wife's back problems, I didn't want to chance any other suspension than the leaf spring ride she loved so much from riding in a friend's. It was NOT an inexpensive venture, and including the paint job to match my Ultra, I am into it for a little over $6K, but $900 of this was having to change back to a used stock exhaust (should have saved my old one) and paying someone to connect and align it for me. You can definitely do it yourself if you have the time and patience, but I didn't and was anxious to get it on the road.
