Looking for input. Every year we have these elections with a very poor participation rate. Last year only 13 ballots returned after individual mailings of over 90 Associate ballots. I realize that if we had two or more candidates for open positions it would make it more interesting.

Elections for this year are the offices of Vice President, Secretary, and the Regional Directors for the Northeast, South Central and Northwest will be open for nominations.

I found this site: http://votingplace.net/explain which would allow online voting if we upload our membership database. Would you be more likely to vote if you didn't have to stamp and mail a ballot? We could also allow mail in ballots and the cost of our printing and postage would be about the same as the fee, depending on the number of votes we get.

+1 for online voting. Snail mail ballots too often sit with the rest of the pile on the kitchen counter, until their due date has passed....

Best,

In my country I am the only member, As somebody who is an emigrant for now 25 years I have lost all votes home in Germany or due to lost paperwork, slow mail or my own lazyness.
To vote online would make a lot of sence for more then one of us here in the Forum.

Thanks Everyone!!

Now all we need are some candidates. Nominations open Jan 1 and wouldn't it be interesting to have 2 people run for all offices.

Good morning Joyce,
may I suggest that you mention the actual composition of the directories and who will have his turn to new elections.
You see sometimes that a directory has to "readjust" after a certain time of working together. Or some members simply do not "fit" together.
My own head once was asked for in one concil just because of one simple reason, I did change my work and had not any change to attend my tasks in the association council as the factory was a complete metal Faraday cage and no celular phone or Beeper signal would come through.
(I stepped out of politics a few years later and am happy about it now for 8 years.
Only for fun and hobby I would put my name again the day I will get pensioned.)

A few words of comment for each position and candidate would help a lot for everybody to make up his mind and oppinion for to vote.
Good luck
Sven
