Time to change the rear tire on my 2002 FLHTCUI w/ sidecar. Been thinking of trying a car tire ths time. Currently running a 130. Looking for ideas on what tire and size would be a good one to try. Thanks

There are many threads on this exact question. Do a search and you will find them. My opinion is that there is not an automotive tire in your size that is worth running as they are all antique car tires that do not work as well or last as long as the bike tire.

I have an 2003 Harley FLHTCI, with a Motorvation Formula II. I have run the Dunlops and Metzers, both with fair results.
I am trying out the Shinko 230 series. It's half the cost of the others. So far 5000 miles with good results. Shinko is the old Yokohama tire.

Was looking at the Austone 175/16 taxi tire but it s at least 1" taller. May just swap the hack and rear tire . Should get another 4-5000 miles then get 2 new ones. Thanks for y'all's replies.

Some taxi tires are made only for slow speed and around town so find out what the speed rating is before buying one. All so being it is a 175 and the stock one is 130 it is going to be quite a bit wider and since yours has the in my opinion the better wider belt you might have a clearance problem.

I drive a 02 Ultra with a Harley sidecar. She is getting ready to turn 100,000 miles. I bought her new and the hack used.

For the most part in all most 100,000 miles I have run D402 but the last couple I got did not seem to hold up as well as the others. The one I have on the rear now is a Michelin Commander 2 going to get about a grand more then my last D402. The one I have to put on the back next time is a Metzeler 888. I do all my own work including but not limited to tires and machine work.

I have put 8,000 miles on my Honda Shadow 750 with a Velorex 562. The original tire lasted 3,800 miles. Replaced with a Dunlop D555 150/80 H15. After 4,000 miles it needs replacing. OE was 160/80 15. Is there a high mileage rear tire available for this model Honda? Is there a car tire that would work? Thanks for your help.
