it refreshes a topic that's no longer current, that gets folk's attention again when there's been no replies to the earlier post

Ronnies looks to have it new

http://www.shopronniesharleydavidson.com/default.asp?page=xstore&ke...

Unfortunately, Ronnie's and other online dealers allow orders without verifying stock. This is what I got back:

"Thank you for your recent order. However the part you ordered has been discontinued and is no longer available. This order will be canceled today and the funds will be returned to your account. We apologize for any inconveniences this has caused. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us."

But thanks for trying SeaZund.

I put one on my Friendship II and it took a while to find it. You can do an ebay search and it will notify you every time something new is added within the defined parameters.

Thank you. I have checked the HD dealer's database, no luck. Nowhere online. Looking at MC salvage places, This is definately a needle in a haystack.

V-Twin Mfg shows one in their online catalog. It says backordered, (better than not available) maybe give them a call and see if they expect to get more in: http://www.vtwinmfg.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/VTwinProd5_10101_...

If you get one from V-Twin, please update this. I've been looking for one of these also. I've looked at local swap meets and no luck so far. I am going to try the Wauseon, Ohio swap meet this year.

I searched around some more using the V-Twin part number and found a few websites in Japan that have this rack listed. I ordered it from Parts Depot using a third party service called buyee. They sent me an email saying they purchased the part and will have it in their warehouse soon. It costs about $150. When they get the part they will email me and I will be able to select from a few different shipping methods. I'm not totally comfortable with this but I did some checking on buyee's reputation. They got mostly good reviews, some complaints but figured I would take a chance. I will update this as things develop. So far they seem to act and communicate quickly so hopefully that will continue.

Got an email today that my order was cancelled. Apparently, Parts Depot in Japan was out of stock. I will search some more and see if any of the other Japanese parts places have it.

DAVET!

I ordered a VT version on Friday, expecting to get the same answer you got, but I got an email that it had shipped. And now this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PREMIUM-SIDE-CAR-LUGGAGE-RACK-VT-50-0595-FL...

If you miss it, check your VT source, this must mean that they have re-upped. Good luck.

Above eBay has been relisted. This guy is the same dealer
