The East Texas Sidecar Muster is back for 2017 - scheduled for May 5-7, again at Holly Park Marina on the Texas side of Toledo Bend.

Please make your lodging/RV/camping reservations directly with Holly Park Marina:
http://www.hollyparkmarina.com/ Day Phone: 409-625-4424 Email : info@hollyparkmarina.com

Should Holly Park fill-up, there are some cabins and houses in the also in the immediate area.

The preliminary schedule includes a Saturday morning group ride to one of the oldest standing log cabins in Texas.

The Sale on the Trail Flea Market along Hwy 21 should be the same weekend - we'll need to stop in Milam for another bag of blue cornmeal.

There is no official registration, but please let me know by posting here if you are coming so we can get a head count.

Updates will be posted here as the schedule develops.

Preliminary Schedule - subject to change, of course:

Friday May 5th:

11:00 Lunch:  For early arrivers and folks traveling in from the North & West, let's meet for lunch at 11:00am Friday May 5th at the Trails End Diner on the Northeast corner of FM2694 & FM3172 in Huxley, Texas. Yes, the street/mailing address is 5437 FM3172 in Shelbyville (https://www.facebook.com/Trails-End-Grocery-RV-224912971004635/) but the Trails End is not in Shelbyville at all, but 13 miles to the East in Huxley, which is 34 highway miles North of Holly Park. Best to check a map before you leave.

For the TURD's and other adventuresome folks, we can take the unpaved shortcut thru the Sabine National Forest on our way to Holly Park.

6:30 Tamales & Beans by the Ramirez Family  Cool

Saturday May 6th:

8:00 Breakfast at the Liberty Springs United Methodist Church 2 miles West on FM276

9:20 Riders Meeting for ~66 mile group ride departing at 9:30 with the general schedule of:

10:00 Gaines-Oliphint House circa 1818, hosted by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas

10.45: Sale-on-the-Trail Flea Market in Milam

12:30 Lunch at the Fat Cow on the square in San Augustine

We should return to Holly Park by 3:00.

6:30 My brother & I plan to grill Hot Dogs for supper at camp.

If you arrive early or have extra time, I suggest a visit to the NASA Columbia Museum 15 miles South in Hemphill:  http://nasacolumbiamuseum.com/

And if you like country music, I suggest a day ride to either:

Texas Country Music Hall of Fame 63 miles North in Carthage - FM699 from Center to Carthage is the preferred route: http://www.carthagetexas.us/halloffame/index.html ; or

Louisiana Country Music Museum 52 miles East/Northeast at the Rebel State Historic Site near Marthaville - there are two routes: Hwys 191 & 120 thru Zwolle and Hwys 6 & 175 thru Many. Best to confirm the museum is open before venturing that way: http://www.crt.state.la.us/louisiana-state-parks/historic-sites/reb... .

Sure be good to have all y'all at the Muster, Art --- and we certainly hope the tow strap will be an unnecessary precaution.

Friday Evening Supper
We will be taking tamales and beans for supper on Friday evening. Feel free to bring something to compliment the meal, like plates and bowls. Please coordinate with Lee on that. And yes, I'll take salsa too.

Rosa had gall bladder surgery last week so she will not be attending. See all of you May 5.
