Thinking about getting an electric lean for our friendship III.
1. Are there aftermarket options for this car or am I stuck with going with the Califorina model ($500 I think)??
2.Is the califorina electic lean a good set up I cannot see how it mounts and works??
3.Will this make a huge difference in tire wear or is it a luxury item ony??

Kramer,
Electric lean is a handlebar switch controlled electric screw jack that will raise or lower the sidecar suspension to allow neutral steering. It compensates for different road camber (Crown) and different sidecar loadings without having to stop and manually reset the sidecar mounts for these differences.
Most sidecar manufacturers that offer this convenience have their own application that fits their particular chassis. To avoid having to modify or fabricate mountings, I would suggest going to your sidecar Mfg'r.

It's basic function is to trim the rig for neutral steering and driver comfort.
Don't expect a noticable difference in sidecar tire wear.
Do expect less driver fatigue.

Kramer,
The electric lean IS NOT a luxury. It is a very 'nice to have' accessory.
It straightens the rig out on the highway to track straight with no pull left or right, no matter what the raod camber or SC load is. just hit the button, and instant straight tracking!
very nice to have, makes steering on the highway almost effortless.easy on your arms and shoulders.
stright line down the highway hands off [ just for an example of course]
I, and others who have it, highly reccommend it.
I would assume it also helps to keep tire wear down, by reducing the sideways pull of the rig.

Bob,
Been having the same problem today only so far.
Big text denial then when I got off the site and back on there were duplicate postings. Went back and deleted the extras.
Maybe it will all go away soon.
