|I am upset that any mention of this rally was omitted from the latest issue of the sidecarist, so I will post it here on a weekly basis. |
Ron-Dee-Voo dates : JULY 23-25, 2004
The event will be held at the Union County Sportsman's Club located
in Weikert ,Pa. (in central, Pa. approximately 60 miles north of
Rally fee will be $30 per person
children 9-12 $10
Children 8 and under free
=Tent camping is INCLUDED IN THE RALLY FEE for an unlimited number of
tents. Shade is availble.
=RV Electrical hookups are INCLUDED IN THE RALLY FEE and will be on a
first come first served basis. There are twenty hookups at the
facility so we expect to have plenty.
FOOD INCLUCED IN THE RALLY FEE fee will be:
** Friday evening Sausage/Hamburger and Hot Dog meal.
** Breakfast Buffet Saturday morning
** Chicken BAR-B-QUE Saturday evening with cole slaw, baked
beans,macaroni salad, applesauce, rolls and sodas.
** Sidecar Games with Trophies
** 50/50 drawing.
** Pavillion with a 24/7 coffee pot
** On site zoo(yes, real animals not just sidecarists)
** Playground for the kids PLUS MR. LEE the BALLOON MAN!
** clean pay Showers
**Tours (guided and self
guided) will include trips to:
The Piper Museum (home of the piper cub airplane)
Penns Cave..Woodward Cave
**There will also be a tour to Bill's Old Bike Barn at Bill's
** The Mike Braverman Dual Sport Sidecar Ride will take a scenice
route along the top of Jack's Mountain.
**Door prizes and THE ISOK DOOR PRIZE
**Awards for oldest, farthest etc. riders
**Ice Cream run
**Sunday morning interdenominational worship service and more.
NOTE: Sidecar RON-DEE-VOO 2004 T-Shirts are now available at:

Directions, Milages and Motels are listed below:
Note that in the 'photos' section on the homepage there is an album
called RON-DEE-VOO with a couple of maps that can be printed out.
The rally site is not difficult to find and we will have signs along
the way. They will be red and green arrows.
Alao note that in the 'files' section on the homepage there is a
jpeg of the Rally Flyer. This flyer will also be in the next Hack'd
Magazine and Steve Woodward has informed me that it will be in the
upcoming issue of The Sidecarist. Feel free to copy and distribute
the flyer in your own travels and locally.
IF COMING FROM THE NORTH ... Take Interstate 80 to the Lewisburg, Pa
exit. This will be route 15. Take rt 15 approximately 8 miles into
Lewisburg to Rt 45. Turn right on 45 (to the west). Take 45 out
through Mifflinburg, through Hartleton (Note: go slow through
Hartleton as is is a known speedtrap) and to Rt 235. (Note: from 15
to 235 is probably 20 miles or so..from 15 to Hartleton is 15
miles). LANDMARK:Just before getting to 235 there will be a
motorcycle junk yard on the right.
Turn left on 235 and procede into the small town of Laurelton.(4-5
miles) (Note: The town cop who does the speed trap in Hartleton
lives in Laurelton). In the town you will see a sign showing where
to turn to the right towards the rally site. I will be going out
there soon to get a road name to post. After turning right you are
on the road to the rally site.
Note that Rt 45 could have been picked up if you were coming from
the west by getting off oF interstate 80 in the State College area.
This would cut off some milage but can be a little more complicated.
IF COMING FROM THE SOUTH you would be on Rt. 11 and 15 out of
Harrisburg, Pa. About 35 miles up 11/15 look for route 104. It will
angle off to the left. Take 104 north through Middleburg and on into
Mifflinburg.(Watch for Amish Buggies on 104). 104 will dead end into
route 45 at Mifflinburg. Turn left on 45 (west) and go out through
Hartleton (Note: go slow through Hartleton as is is a known
speedtrap) and to Rt 235. LANDMARK: Just before getting to 235 there
will be a motorcycle junk yard on the left.
Turn left on 235 and procede
Thanks for poeting that. Do you know if anyone sent a flyer to Steve to be included in The Sidecarist? I can't believe he would leave it out on purpose.
|Claude told me he sent him a flyer, and even if that didn't fit in this issue for some reason, it shuely could have been included in the calander section. The USCA has had no better friend and promoter than Claude Stanley. |
