my wife and me have decided to take a big break and discover this big country with our sidecar .
The rig is : 2011 HD Road King with a 1971 Watsonian Palma sidecar .
our trip started on June 10 , 2012 and we plan to end it by August 20th , 2012 .
All the parade displayed a mix of generation , culture and gender but above all a unique sense of being together in the community and the Country at large .
Starting at 10.AM till 12.30 PM , the parade has been watched by a huge crowd of locals (... and some tourists as well ) . Here are Louise and Monique , in front of the El Dorado , watching the so lively , joyful and community driven parade .
July 3rd was resting day ... ready to attend on July 4th , the Independence Day parade that was taking place on the city main square plaza .
We finally arrived in Sonoma around 3.00pm where our daughter Louise lives and works ( she is graduated from a Culinary Institute and works at the Fairmont Hotel in Sonoma ) . Louise welcomed us so warmly and lovingly ... even having prepared a cheese plate with a Sonoma red wine to help us heal the fatigue of the travel ( 4800 miles from NY , that day ) .
We left Santa Rosa promptly to have time to visit the estate of Jack and Sharmian London in Glenn Ellen . A very moving and informative visit of this great writer's place prior to have a gourmet lunch at the Glenn Ellen Inn in the village .
... while Jean is offering psycho' advices ...for real cheap !
July 2nd , we left Ukia heading on 101 South to stop in Santa Rosa to spend some ( funny) time visiting the Schulz Museum . Monique is asking Snoopy to share his cookie ....
the weather finally cleared up and we stopped for lunch in Garberville prior to refill tank in Willits . The final stop was at Ukia that day , in the Mendecito County .
We could not reist to take this picture while passing through the imposing Redwood National Park .
