my wife and me have decided to take a big break and discover this big country with our sidecar .
The rig is : 2011 HD Road King with a 1971 Watsonian Palma sidecar .
our trip started on June 10 , 2012 and we plan to end it by August 20th , 2012 .
Then the tour guide got us to the tower , designed in the 20's or 30's by Mary Colter , one of the rare female architect of that time .
Another one ... from the dozen of pictures I took !
View from the South rim ...
we also made a reservation to tour a segment of the Grand Canyon , by bus , with a very knowledgeable guide : an almost 4 hours tour .
This was our first contact with this natural wonder ! before having a nice dinner at the Bright Angel Dining room .
Few days earlier we had made reservation at the Yavapai Lodge giving us the opportunity to stay within the limits of this National Park . After unpacking , we walked to the rim of the Canyon .
at the South rim entrance of the Grand Canyon , the souvenir photo is taken .
From Williams to the Grand Canyon National park , on Route 64 , the weather proved to be unpredictable ! few minutes before , a very strong hail storm just happened ! big surprise during such a hot day !
What an attractive looking "tourist trap " on Rte 66 !!!
No biker can resist doing such photo : hello to my friends at the Empire Harley Davidson Hog Chapter !
Then we headed South on Rte 93 to Kingman where we took East the mythical Route 66 , passing through Hackberry , Valentine , Peach Spring before having lunch in Seligman .
Thursday , July 12th , we left Pahrump at 5.30 am for a long drive ( 368 miles that day ) and stopped around 8.00 am at the Hoover Dam where we stopped to visit this historic place and walk on the new bridge overlooking the old dam .
