my wife and me have decided to take a big break and discover this big country with our sidecar .
The rig is : 2011 HD Road King with a 1971 Watsonian Palma sidecar .
our trip started on June 10 , 2012 and we plan to end it by August 20th , 2012 .
On July 9th , we left Porterville around 7.20 am and took Route 65 South then Route 155 East .We passed by the beautiful Lake Isabella and took Route 178 .
After leaving the park around 1.00pm , we headed South to Porterville but stopped in the way , close to Lemon Grove to take this picture of Monique in an orange tree .
Next to the largest living sequoia of the Park , the Sherman , we got this "historic " shot made .
we had a great solitary ride in the Park : no one was there yet .
it was early in the day , that July 8th , when we left the Motel and showed up at the Sequoia Park entrance at around 7.30am .
The appropriately named " Sequoia Motel " offered us a much needed rest and .... swimming pool !
The visitor center of Three Rivers offers a very interesting permanent exhibit of local history with objects donated by local residents . Tom , the person in charge of this center , also assisted us in our search for a Motel .
It was such a hot day that it made this 204 miles ride a quite strenuous one to Three Rivers , after riding through extensive orange tree growing farms .
En route , we met a very nice couple , Dave and Christi , doing some training on a tandem bicycle .
Leaving Groveland around 8.00 AM on July 7th , we took Route 49 South to Mariposa , stopping time to time to take picture of the mountain landscape of the Sierra Nevada .
We had our dinner in the historic Iron Door Saloon , almost facing the Charlotte Hotel , in main street Groveland .
only one picture among so many that we took of this place that is a true natural wonder of this world .
